After the success of his first eight terms of 10 week poetry courses at the Trinity Rooms, which started in January 2024, poet Adam Horovitz will be running two consecutive workshops on Tuesday and Wednesday nights from September 22nd and 23rd 2026.

On these 10 week courses, participants will be invited to explore the writing of poetry, offering ways in to intermediate and advanced writers in search of fresh sources of inspiration, or who are in need of a jump-start for the muse. Adam will guide students through the tangled landscape of writing poetry, and allow them time, space and permission to write freely. The courses can also help writers to get bump-started after a long hiatus, if that is needed.

The Tuesday night sessions are suitable either for people returning to the Tuesday night classes, or for anyone feeling more confident in their writing, but who need the time and space in which to practice it. The Wednesday course will suit intermediate writers, improvers and anyone seeking a burst of fresh inspiration. Each two hour session over the ten weeks will include workshop prompts, discussion and constructive critique of writing generated on the night, and of poems brought in or written as part of the previous week’s homework.

Each course costs £135 for ten weeks. There are also two concessionary places available, priced £67.50, on each course. There are a maximum of 12 places available on each course.

If there is enough interest, he will book the Trinity Rooms for that time, but he needs to have an idea of what’s possible before doing so.

The courses take place in person at the Trinity Rooms, Field Road, Stroud, Gloucestershire, GL5 2HZ. The September 2026 Tuesday course runs from Tuesday 22nd September to 1st December between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. The second course runs from Wednesday 23rd September to 2nd December between 5.3opm and 7.30pm. There will be a half term break in the middle of the course, which means that there will be no classes during the week beginning October 26th.
